I'm so grateful for my Dad and for the good Grandfathers I have. You all are amazing examples to me and I love you so much!
Funny things this week,
There is this older member who has health problems and can't come to church, but we visited him this week and he has this keyboard that has all these crazy features and he played it and made me sing and it sounded horrible, but zr Ramirez and I were trying so hard not to laugh, but he was so sincere about his music. haha Boston would've loved it :)
Our district leaders came for sister support day and on their way to meet us, they met this lady from Den Haag who was baptized about a year ago and then moved to Arnhem, and she hadn't been able to find the church, so they gave her the address to the church, but forgot to get her name or number or anything! So pray for her that she'll come to church!
This week was so full of wonders I can't even believe it! Zr Ramirez and I are seeing tons of miracles.
We have one solid progressor. He is trying to stop smoking right now and 2 weeks ago we taught him the Word of Wisdom, this week the law of chastity. Before we got into the lesson this week, we gave him the 15 step program packet and explained and followed up on how he was doing. We went through some of the packet with him, and he gathered up his cigarettes that he had in his house and he broke them up and destroyed them! We are so proud of him, and it's obvious that he really wants this change in his life. We also had what we're calling a "super-duper member present" with him. A member family invited him, us, and another member family over for dinner last Tuesday, and it was amazing! We had another lesson with him on Thursday and he expressed that he feels so accepted and loved by the ward and that before he came in contact with the church he didn't have this, but now he feels so loved! I LOVE OUR MEMBERS!
I realized we're halfway through the transfer right now, and I can't believe it! agh.
I made it through my 20th birthday without anyone knowing it! ha I win! I told Zr Ramirez of course, but I wanted it to just be a normal day of missionary work, so it was! :) We did a lot of tracting and had dinner with a less active man in the ward, who gave us sparkling cider and also randomly had a kangaroo hand on his coffee table, and it was just really fun. Some of my former companions called and sang to me, so that was sweet and really fun :) We also had pizza for lunch and rootbeer floats for dessert :) I felt super American.
I am mostly just weirded out by the fact that I'm 20 now... That's extremely odd...
Yesterday the Jones family invited us over for dinner along with a young couple in the ward and after dinner we went around the room and each shared something we've learned from our fathers. It was really cool to think about how much I've learned from my parents and how amazing they are. I love you Dad!
I love you all so much and hope you have a good week!
(Especially you, Marley! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WHAT YOU ARE 17 THAT'S CRAZY.)
veeeel liefs,
